Read&Write – Assistive Technology

Overview

Read&Write is an assistive technology tool that provides reading, writing, and study support. It offers a range of features designed to help students access and work with digital content more independently.Read&Write can support students who experience challenges with reading, writing, spelling, concentration, or processing written information.

Some of the available features include:

Text-to-Speech – Reads digital text aloud.
Speech-to-Text / Dictation – Converts spoken words into written text.
Word Prediction – Suggests words while typing.
Spell Check – Helps identify and correct spelling errors.
Dictionary and Vocabulary Tools – Provides definitions and other information about words.
Text and Screen Reading Tools – Helps students access digital content in an alternative format.
Study Tools – Provides features that can help students work with and organize information.

Read&Write is available to Fleming College students, where licensed and provided by the college.

Getting Started

Open Read&Write on your Fleming College computer
Sign in using your Fleming College account, if prompted.
Open the Read&Write toolbar.
Select the tool you need, such as Text-to-Speech, Dictation, Word Prediction, Dictionary, or Study Tools.
Refer to the tutorials and related resources below for instructions on using individual features.
