Overview
This article will walk you through exporting and importing bookmarks and passwords from the Chrome, Edge and Firefox browsers.
It is highly recommended for staff to use 1Password for any of their Fleming passwords which has stronger security controls rather than the default browser mechanism.
Issue
When signing into a different machine, your bookmarks and passwords may not transfer. This allows you to save your bookmarks and passwords in order to import them to the new machine.

This article will walk you through exporting and importing bookmarks and passwords from the Chrome, Edge and Firefox browsers.
Chrome Browser
Chrome Password export
Click on the three dots at the top right corner and select Google password manager
Select Settings on the far left

Then select Download File

You will be prompted for your Fleming password to allow the download and export of your file.
Create a new folder on your desktop to save the file export. This file will then be available when you need to import the passwords on the NEW machine.
You can follow the same steps to import. The import option is in the above graphic.

Chrome Bookmark export
Go to the same three dots at the top right and select the bookmarks manager option.

on the right, select the lower three dots.

…and select export.

select the same folder that you had saved the password file to export your bookmarks.
Follow the same steps when re-importing to the NEW computer.
Edge Browser
Edge Favourites export
Saving your FAVOURITES from Edge.
After clicking the top right three dots on the browser select Favourites.

select the three dots on this new menu.

Select Export Favourites and save the file in a folder. Please follow the same steps to import the save file on the NEW desktop.

Edge Password export
Click on the three dots at the top right corner and select passwords

Select the three dots to the right of + Add to open the export/import options.

Select the Export button

Once again you will be prompted for your Fleming password. Follow the instructions to save the file into a folder.

Firefox Browser
Firefox Bookmark export
Select the three lines for settings on the top right and select bookmarks
Then select ‘Manage Bookmarks. In the next window select ‘Export Bookmarks to HTML’ and save the file to your desktop or folder.


Firefox Password export
Select the three lines for settings on the top right and select passwords

Select ’Export passwords’

Select Continue to export and save the csv file.


Additional Information
It is advisable to save your passwords and bookmarks regularly if you are not signed into the browser to have these available globally or use password software.
