Service Overview
1Password is a password manager, digital vault, random password generator, and form filler. 1Password remembers all your passwords and keeps them safe behind the one password that only you know. While many of Fleming’s systems are single sign-on (SSO) enabled many other websites and systems are not. It is strongly recommended that you always use a unique password for every system, the use of a password manager/vault is necessary to keep your various credentials secure.

FAQ
Q: I can’t log in to the website/application, or something seems wrong with my account.
A: Be sure that you are using Fleming’s 1Password site/service URL ( https://fleming.1password.ca/ ) in your web browser and desktop/mobile app configuration. If you use the public/consumer URLs of https://my.1password.com or https://my.1password.ca you will not be correctly connected to the Fleming instance of this application.
Q: I don’t see where to manage Shared Vaults or Teams?
A: Login to Fleming’s 1Password website to see all the features and options. Many administrative functions are only available via the website.
Q: What are Family Accounts?
A: For every paid Fleming staff account, the user is entitled to one take-home “family account”. This account should only be used to store personal credentials not associated with any Fleming sites or services. If a staff member leaves the employment of the College or otherwise has their Fleming 1Password license removed, they can unlink their family account and continue to pay 1Password directly for it’s continued use if they wish.
Q: I’m getting the error “MFA Authentication failed”, what do I proceed?
A: Try the following to delete and re-add the MFA account profile: Close and re-open Microsoft Authenticator, click on the 1Password (fleming.1password.ca) item, click the gear icon, click [Remove Account]. Follow the instructions above to re-add the MFA account to Microsoft Authenticator.
Q: I’m unable to access, join or be invited to any Shared Vaults.
A: Your 1password account must be “verified” before you can access shared vaults. The ITS Department will verify your account within 1 business day of you accepting the 1password invitation. Please wait 1 business day and email itsupport@flemingcollege.ca if you 1Password account is still unverified and unable to access Shared Vaults.
Q: What do I do with old items?
A: You can Delete them or put them in the Archive. The 1Password Archive will move them out of the main search & auto-fill results area, and into a spot for retaining items you likely don’t need but are ready to fully part with yet.
Q: How do I reset 1Password app on a specific device? After an account recovery, I am now able to login to the 1Password website but not the desktop app.
A: After a 1Password Account Recovery your Secret Key changes when you get a new Emergency Kit. But if you are locked out of 1Password on the specific device you may be unable to update this secret key. In this case, follow these vendor instructions to reset the 1Password app on a specific device.
