Service Overview
Microsoft Entra ID is the College’s identity and access management platform used to securely authenticate users and manage access to Microsoft 365 services and enterprise applications.
Many third-party SaaS applications integrate with Microsoft 365 using OAuth and may request access to organizational data such as email, calendars, cloud storage, contacts, and user profile information. Excessive or unnecessary permissions can expose institutional data and increase security and supply chain risks if a vendor or application is compromised.
To protect institutional data and user privacy, applications requesting elevated or sensitive permissions must be reviewed and approved by ITS before use.
Available To
Staff and Faculty
Faculty are required to request access for Students as part of academic delivery
Getting Started
Before an application can access Microsoft 365 or College data, permission must be granted through a consent process. Depending on the level of access requested:
- Users may be able to approve the application themselves, or

- Administrator approval may be required

Low-risk permissions are often pre-approved for standard business and academic use. Applications requesting elevated permissions or broader access require ITS review to ensure they meet College security, privacy, and compliance requirements. If administrator approval is required, users will see an "Approval Required" message when attempting to sign in or use the application.
Click [ Request Access ] button on top-right to initiate the access request to the ITS department. Please include the following information when submitting a request:
- Application Name
- Application Purpose
- Requested Permissions
- Vendor or Developer Name (if applicable)
- Business or Academic Justification
Approval Process:
- User submits an Enterprise Application Access request.
- ITS reviews the request to ensure access permissions align with College policies, data protection standards, and user role requirements.
- ITS approves or denies the request.
- The requester is notified of the outcome.
College Policy Reference
Section 5.6 of the College's Appropriate Use Policy states:
Acquisition of IT Services and Resources - The purchase or acquisition of any IT service or resource on behalf of the College must be made under the direction and approval of the ITS. As determined and required by the ITS, privacy, security, and technical reviews will be conducted for IT goods or services, prior to procurement and/or use. Software, whether free or paid, must be approved by ITS to appropriately assess and manage any data/information risk to the College.
