As per the College's Information Security Classification Procedure OP #6-604A, Appendix A, "Digital media shall be destroyed in compliance with NIST SP 800-88 media sanitization guidelines. ITS to degauss magnetic media with certified coercivity. ITS to use certified and documented physical destruction service for non-magnetic media. Cryptographic erase for devices using FIPS 140 validated encryption modules."
