Service Overview
PointClickCare is a cloud-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software widely used in healthcare settings, particularly within long-term care facilities such as nursing homes and assisted living environments. It provides healthcare providers with a comprehensive platform for managing patient records, medications, treatments, care plans, and other essential aspects of patient care.
At Fleming College, we utilize PointClickCare in a practice environment to train Practical Nursing and Personal Support Worker (PSW) students. This allows students to become familiar with industry-standard software and gain hands-on experience with electronic documentation, which is critical in modern healthcare practices. Through simulated patient care scenarios, students will learn to use the software in real-world contexts, gaining vital skills for their future careers.
PointofCare (POC) is an application of PointClickCare that allows for efficient, timely documentation of daily tasks and activities. The PSW students are only taught this application, where the Practical Nursing Students utilize both.
