Service Overview

Fleming classroom spaces are equipped with a teaching station at the front for instructor use. Fleming AV has designed these teaching stations with a defined set of core components selected to support instructional needs. These include:

1. Safety phone - Found on wall or sometimes on the teaching station, this phone is used to contact IT support, campus security, or for emergency calls.

2. Document camera - For sharing documents and other physical items on the screen.

3. Surface-mounted panel of connections - For BYOD input (HDMI), USB ports for the PC and charging, as well as a power outlet for BYOD.

4. Touch panel controller or push button controller - To start / shutdown, switch inputs, blank displays, and adjust volume.

5. Dual monitor PC - The in room PC has two monitors: In rooms with one projector / TV, the primary monitor is mirrored out to the room with the secondary monitor only visible at the teaching station. In dual display rooms the instructor can choose to also send the secondary monitor’s signal to either of the room displays.

Teaching stations are considered a workspace for faculty and, as such, provide a reasonable amount of usable surface area to accommodate laptops, documents, books, and other instructional resources.
